How Much Does 3D Rendering Cost?
June 18, 2026
If you’re budgeting for a project, the first question is usually the hardest to get a straight answer to: how much does 3D rendering cost? Most studios hide their pricing behind a quote form. We don’t. Here’s an honest breakdown of what you can expect to pay, what drives the number, and what we charge.
The short answer
For architectural work, a single photorealistic interior render typically runs $300 to $1,200, depending on the room and the level of detail. Exteriors and animations cost more because there’s more to build and light. At Sayo Designs, interior rooms start at $399 (kitchens from $599), exteriors are quoted per project from $499, and walkthrough animations start at $599.
What actually drives the price
Two renders are rarely the same job. These are the factors that move the cost up or down:
Type of space
A powder room is faster to model and light than a full custom kitchen with millwork, glass, and stone. Exteriors add landscaping, context, and sky. Commercial and mixed-use projects are larger again.
Number of views
Most of the cost is in building the model. Once it exists, additional camera angles of the same space are far cheaper than the first. If you need five views of one kitchen, the per-image price drops.
Level of detail and finishes
Photorealism takes time. Specific materials, custom cabinetry, real product models, and careful lighting all add hours, and realism.
Stills vs. animation
A walkthrough or flythrough is a sequence of hundreds of rendered frames, so it costs more than a still image and takes longer to produce.
Turnaround
Genuine rush work can carry a premium. Our standard pace, first sketches in 4 days, is built into our normal pricing.
Typical ranges by project
| Project | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Single interior room (still) | $399 to $999 |
| Kitchen (still) | $599 to $1,199 |
| Exterior (per project) | from $499 |
| 3D walkthrough animation | from $599 |
| Floor plan or elevation drawing | from $200 |
These are starting points. The honest answer for your project is a fixed quote based on the actual scope.
What you should get for the price
Cost only means something next to what’s included. A fair rendering package should cover:
- 3 to 5 photorealistic images per room
- At least two revision rounds
- High-resolution files ready for presentations, listings, and print
- Direct communication with the person making your renders
At higher tiers, you should also get technical drawings, materials and appliance specs, and walkthrough animation.
Why transparent pricing matters
When a studio won’t show prices, you spend time on calls just to find out if they’re in your range. Published starting prices respect your time and let you budget before you ever reach out. That’s the point of this article.
Get a fixed quote
The best way to know your cost is to send us the project. Share a floor plan or a few references and we’ll come back with a fixed quote and a timeline, with first sketches in 4 days.
